Nora Stocks
Vice President, Program Development
Nora F. Stocks is a graduate of both The University of North Carolina at Charlotte and Walden University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Masters of Public Administration respectively. Nora began her career 23 years ago in the public sector, working as a Family Law Paralegal for Legal Aid of North Carolina, Inc. During her time at Legal Aid, Nora developed a strong set of litigation skills enabling her to move into more advanced roles including leadership, and eventually transitioning to a career in compliance and risk within the financial sector. Since 2011, much of Nora’s work has focused on litigation, compliance, and risk management of financial institutions as it relates to consumer regulations, while also ensuring established processes and controls resolve consent order matters related to sales practices and complaints management.
Currently, Nora is employed by Truist Bank as a Senior Compliance Consultant responsible for ensuring there are no regulatory or compliance concerns in response to how consumer complaints are handled by the company. In addition to her day job, Nora is the owner and operator of NF Stocks Legal Services, where she provides paralegal support, on a contractual basis, to attorneys regarding a variety of substantive areas, including contract disputes, consumer regulatory violations, estates, and business formation.
Nora has proven to be a community servant through her volunteer efforts at the Shelter for Battered Women, The Women’s Homeless Shelter, service as a Community Member of the Policy Council for the Charlotte Head Start Program, engagement in political activities, leading and teaching VBS at her local church, and creating and leading opportunities that expose and educate youth in STEM careers, and mentoring.
